A creepy Facebook idea suggests friends by sensing other people's phones

Facebook knows a lot about you and it wants to know more about the people around you. A recently granted patent shows Mark Zuckerberg's company is exploring new ways to track who its users meet in the real world – even if they have no other connections to one another.

The company's mission is to connect people. At the heart of this is its People You May Know feature, which makes suggestions to users about people they might want to be friends with.
